High fibre
Here's a recent image, one of my "what the h*ll is that?!?" subjects. Anyone care to guess what it is?
I rather like how the lighting worked out here. This is uncropped, by the way. If you have any crop suggestions, or even just rude remarks, bring 'em on!
Not exactly frayed, but it is indeed one strand from a thick nylon rope used to tie up great big ships. Supposedly rated to break beyond 110,000 pounds of force, this one snapped rather unexpectedly. I was taking documentary pictures with a combination of flash and incandescent lighting, and rather liked the results.
This blog was started by Ivan Tommasini and Damian Lidgard to allow us to share our views and discuss our love of photography and digital imaging. Others are welcome to join, discuss and contribute.

I just noticed that it's rather phallic.
Well perhaps its hair from a horse? Its very much like wire...
The picture itself doesn't do much for me other than being a great example of texture. One can almost feel that hair.
D
Not hair, but a good guess...
Loft insulation. Ivan
Nope, not insulation...
A frayed rope? Ivan
*DING* we have a winner!
