Peak Heather and Barn - colour version and a more panoramic crop

The colour version of my CCC competition entry, with a different crop.

How does it compare to the competition version? Preferences?

Losing the sky was a good move because it wasn't that interesting - and giving the heather a bigger share is good now that it's in colour. I still reckon it'd be better either without the barn, or without the trees with the barn a little higher... :)

We should have a sweepstake to try to work out what the judge will say about each of the images! My bet's for one of those "Doesn't the door invite you to go in to explore? Perhaps this could have been somewhere for a farmgirl to meet her lover!" while all of the old ladies in the room coo appreciatively...

I am note sure about this image. The colour and texture of the heather is nice but I think there is too much of it. The barn has a lot of character but it teases since it is almost lost. There is something else about this image but as yet I can't put my finger on it...
