Overdone?

Experimented a bit with this one and went a little wild on the rt hand side of the sliders in LR2. Overdone, almost certainly, but I kind of like it...thoughts.

I certainly like it...a lot. The colours are bright but the whole image feels old. You can sense that the boat has been there, discarded. It also has a painterly feel to it and I think the overdoneness creates that.

So, I like it.

I like it too - it has an unreal quality about it, but kind of suited to the high detail on the textures etc. My only comment to the negative is that it's neither a detail nor "record" type shot - it's not far enough in for detail, and not far enough out to show more. Feels too close to the edge a bit for me, but, as I said, overall I like it.

The issue of the detail vs record shot does not bother me. Never came to mind when I looked at this pic...D

Detail vs. record? What does that mean?

I like this a lot, I agree that it has an unreal feel to it. The coke can is a bit of an annoyance because it provides a familiar reference colour that hints at the post-treatment. What might be really neat is if you could fix the colour of the coke can alone.

I also find the curves of the boats pleasingly framed.

I didn't notice the coke can...I think record vs. detail refers to close-up detail vs. I guess a zoomed out view.

Thanks Chaps. i have to admit, the coke can bothers me too - I'll have to try to correct. Tried a few detail shots, somethng i normally prefer but in this instance they didn't seem to work. Never thought I would admit a 'move to the right' was a good thing!

Well it it's about zoomed-out vs close-up, I'd say this shot got it right.
