I checked out the reference you posted above, but it's all physics goobledegook, and (with not even a Physics O level) I don't get it. I prefer the simplistic explanation in my link....anyway, what's a marine biologist doing on physics websites? Wrong, just wrong!!

I have a friend who is an engineer and he directed me to this website after a brief online discussion about how cameras 'read' light. It sort of sparked a deeper interest in CMOS sensors...by the way, I got an E in my Physics A level...I was very proud...
