Hi guys, Ivan invited me to join your blog ages ago - sorry it's taken so long to get started. I decided I had dithered enougth - this is a shot I took a few years ago on a trip to Peru. It was taken on Fuji Provia and scanned in. I'll post some of my more recent digital images soon.

Hi Adam - I should just introduce Adam a bit more. Kate and I met Adam and Jane on our antenatal class, and have had several social get togethers since. Adam works about 200m from me, so some local lunches have been had too!
Thanks for the posting...it's been a long time coming, but worth the wait. I really like the composition, from above, with the key elements of the picture arranged to balance each other out. Great colours and the texture of the straw is a nice interesting backdrop too. The harsh shadow under the boat and around the (presumably) woman's hat is a bit off-putting, but still a very pleasing well balanced image.
It would be useful in these posts to put a little info on why you did things this way, any Photoshop work/cropping etc. This helps us learn the facts behind the image too.
Excellent start - and don't be shy to comment on our offerings! The more views the better.
