Bench with a view

Early morning, bench on top of Hopesay Hill, Shropshire. A wonderful place to be, and a typically English vista.

My first impression is that the seat dominates the image and that the scene afore is rather hidden or out of sight. It feels like you are in a room with a low ceiling so you can't really see much. I would actually prefer (weird as I am) to just have the seat, with the mud around it and the grass. That tells a great story doesn't it; how many people have sat on that seat. Or, to have more of the sky.

I know what you mean - feels claustrophobic. I trimmed off the sky at that point to try to focus on the vista and not the empty sky (it gets less interesting above that point), and also to get more prominance of the seat too. I think if there was no view, then it would be a pointless image - needs something to look at.
