Newcastle Station
Just a quick grab shot on my travels lately. Can't decide whether cropping out the second roof is an improvement or not? Your thoughts appreciated as always Gentlemen. Adam.

Hi Adam
Nice mono shot - works well for this very graphic subject matter. I prefer the cropper in version (image 1) since I think it makes more of the two main curved lead-in lines. Could it be cropped to include the main pillar in the foreground too, since this may help contain the left hand side of the image. I has a similar feel to my mono shot of the Bath Crescent that I posted some months ago.
Good shots. Would be interested in that slight crop adjustment I suggested.
Well the two focus on different aspects. The first draws the eye to the strong sense of depth to the image and works really well. The second places the emphasis on the curvature of the ceiling with some feeling of depth once the eye has settled somewhat. I actually prefer the second because the first seems to pull the eye into the shot and straight out. In the second, the eye lingers and you get a much better appreciation of what is there.
I'm with Damian on this one. Everytime I look at the first I am dramatically drawn to the bright top right skylights then quickly (too quickly) to the end perspective.
With the second it is easier to linger and appreciate the shot with the balance of both sides of the ceiling. I found my eye prefering the line of the ceiling center structure to follow than the skylights.

Really nice shots.

Thanks Chaps! I really couldn't decide so I think i'll go with the consensus but will try I's crop suggestion as well.
Cheers

I prefer the second one. It seems more balanced (I was going to say symmetric but that's not quite right).
