Nova Scotian view
Colin and Damian should recognise this scene. Taken from the car on the way to/from Keji National Park, when Kate and I were over in April 05. Lovely vivid colours, and a great day. Nice scene, if not an award-winner.
Yes, a familiar scene indeed. Nice colours, but its does little else for me. I find their are too many elements in the scene. For example, there is a pile of something next to the rocks which would be better left out.
Just to give you some background, I thought there was a nice contrast between the pretty colourful structure and the evidence of ruin and disrepair in the pile (that you point out).
OK. What is most appealing is the colour of the shed so I would have made that the focus of this image. I don't see the contrast between pretty and ruin/disrepair. I do like the inclusion, albeit slight , of the opposite bank since it gives a frame to the image, although the grass is distracting (now I am being picky).
