Another Sandwich Bay mono image
Just finished working on this one - really like how it's turned out in mono, the contrast in the sky and grasses, and that band of sea and beach (with tiny tiny walkers in the distance) works well to my eye.
The BW works better on this photo than the one previously. I find the foreground a tad too dark for my taste so some of the detail in the grass is lost. And the grass is excellent. The sky is great too and works well. And yes, I like the strip of sea and beach. So, I like it but would prefer to have less darkness in the foreground.
I like the dark foreground, it makes a nice punchy contrast with the water and the sky. Might be interesting to see it brightened a bit, though? Or maybe a little luminosity curve tweaking?

I like this one too for the reasons that you give; the mono works nicely. I'm curious to see the colour version, though.
A shame you don't see any sandwiches on the beach, now that they've been hunted to near-extinction.
Colin, next time we dine at Boston Pizza I am going to throw a bloody sandwich at you...
